Melbourne Skaters Visit Oceania Roller Skating Championships

SkateworldRijana and Lana from the Peninsula Skate World, in Carrum Downs an outer Melbourne suburb, were in Christchurch New Zealand, during April 2006, to urge on their team mates in town for the “Oceanias  Roller Skating Championships.”

Having breakfast at the local McDonald’s Restaurant in Papanui Road, they were surprised when team New Zealand had the same idea and turned up for breakfast as well.   We couldn’t let a photo opportunity go by, and Team New Zealand were only too happy to oblige.

Australian competitors performed extremely well.  The roller skating artistic championships are held each year at various locations around Australia and New Zealand and promote healthy life style exercise alternatives,  for young people.
